Vegan dinner

This post is going to be in English, in honor of my friend Brie, who is tired of using Google Translate and not understanding a beato cazzo (a flying fuck).

Everybody should have a Brie in their life.

Brie is a great friend, who invites you AND your dog for dinner, even if you don’t want to impose, but you have a dog, you love him oh so much, therefore everybody should love him too.

Brie is a great friend, who cooks a sumptuous vegan dinner for you, even if you don’t want to impose, but you’re vegan, therefore everybody should eat like you do.

Brie is a great friend who tells you to stay overnight if you don’t feel like driving back home, even if you don’t want to impose, but you’re a wino, and you get completely wasted (one glass and a half of white wine is enough…you’re a lame wino).

Brie has a great apartment that should be featured on Rolling Stone magazine or something; it’s filled with vinyls and some cool, hipster stuff. Yes, Brie is a DJ and a hipster.

Despite the fact that Brie is amazing and ubercool, she wasn’t the star of the evening.
The real star of the evening was Kenny THE FOOD (well, Kenny is to be considered hors concours for too much awesomeness).

Pictures are yet to come, so dear readers stay tuned. As soon as the official photographer of the evening sends me the pics, I’ll upload them.

Brie welcomed us with her notorious guacamole a la Brie – which, as you affectionate readers know, is something I’ve been using since summer to wow my guests. I wouldn’t say that the student became the master, but I’m pretty good at it.

Then we had this delicious salad (I believe I had it three times) that I need to redo at home real soon. It was extremely tasty, crunchy and full of flavor. Totally amazeballs (did I really write that? Yes I did).

We continued with some really good pasta, which was actually al dente! It's not that I'm surprised it was, but we Italians are usually suspicious when someone non Italian cooks some pasta. Brie did great. The sauce was velvety and savory. Butternut is a great discovery for me. I’m surely going to add it into my diet.
For those of you who want the detailed recipe, here you have it.

And finally…the cupcakes
Seriously people, they were to die for.
I must admit feeling guilty after having three of them (yes, I said 3), but they were a very, very, very worthwhile experience.
Chocolate and peanut butter: can you imagine a better combination? ‘Cause I can’t.
They were rich, creamy, soft, flavorful; a feast for the eyes & for my stomach.
My thighs are not of the same opinion, but as my former boss would say: IDC (I Don’t Care).

Bottom line is that it was a very fun evening indeed: the company was great,Sean and Brie are wonderful hosts,Kenny had a blast, the food was delicious and the music was not too mainstream;-)
